Liquor Licence Amendment Application No. LIQ00232(141 Lorne Street)Notice – LIQ00232 (141 Lorne Street)Report – LIQ00232 (141 Lorne Street) Recommendation: That Council authorize the following resolution of support for a liquor primary licence structural change be issued and forwarded to the BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch: WHEREAS Kamloops Virtual Golf has applied to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch and the City of Kamloops for permission to amend Liquor Primary Licence No. 312130 to increase the licensed area to 220 m² and increase the capacity to 50 persons; AND WHEREAS the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch requires a formal resolution from the City of Kamloops commenting on specific criteria and a recommendation relative to the liquor primary licensed establishment at 141 Lorne Street; AND WHEREAS Council has considered that: • the establishment is appropriate for a liquor primary licence as it is within a mixed-use commercial centre • the proposed capacity is appropriate as it is consistent with the BC Building Code• noise impacts from the proposed licence amendment are expected to be minimal• the community impact from the licence amendment is expected to be positive as the expanded facility enhances a thriving cultural and entertainment centre AND WHEREAS Council has sought the view of the community by way of circulation of a notice to all properties within 100 m of the property regarding a public meeting to consider the application and invite affected persons to provide input to Council in writing or in person NOW RESOLVE THAT Council supports the proposed liquor primary licence amendment for 141 Lorne Street, subject to the occupant load for the proposed business being limited to 50 persons
