Local conference to focus on reconciliation
Inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility and reconciliation are the subjects of a two-day conference to be held in Kamloops October 29 – 30. Rethinking Community: Diverse Community Voices, a partnership between Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc and the City of Kamloops, is now open for registration.
The conference is designed collaboratively through both the Indigenous and settler lens to meaningfully discuss what it means to be a welcoming and inclusive community while amplifying diverse voices from across sectors. Using keynote speakers, breakout groups and panel discussions, the organizers aim to ground participants in lived experiences as well as facilitate action-oriented dialogue.
There are volunteer opportunities available, and selected volunteers will have their registration fees waived. Click here to apply for this opportunity.
