In favour: the Night Shift on 5th (130 5th Avenue) to permanently change the opening time from 7:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Sunday

Staff recommendation / action

That Council authorize the following: a) WHEREAS the Night Shift on 5th (1365321 BC Ltd) has applied to the BC Liquor and Cannabis Licensing Branch and the City of Kamloops to permit a permanent change to the opening time for Liquor Primary Licence No. 111831 from 7:00 pm to 5:00 pm; AND WHEREAS the BC Liquor and Cannabis Licensing Branch requires a formal resolution from the local government commenting on the application; AND WHEREAS the City of Kamloops has considered: • the potential for noise if the application is approved and determined that the impact will be minimal, as normal club activities occur inside• the potential for community impact if the application is approved and determined that the impact will be positive, as the application supports event and entertainment options for a variety of age groups• whether the proposed amendment will result in the establishment being used in a manner that is contrary to its primary purpose (a club) and determined that it will not, since the hours change will not affect the permitted use NOW RESOLVE THAT Council supports the proposed permanent hours change for the Night Shift on 5th (Liquor Primary Liquor Licence No. 111831), located at 130 5th Avenue.
