Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaws

Public Submissions

Following an opportunity for members of the public to provide their input, Council adopted Permissive Tax Exemptions for Not-for-Profit Organizations Bylaw No. 72, 2026, and Permissive Tax Exemptions for Places of Worship Bylaw No. 73, 2026. The City’s permissive tax exemption bylaws are established on a five-year cycle, and the 2027 tax year marks the start of a new cycle (2027–2031). Each year, new applicants are considered for the remaining years of the five-year cycle. As this is the start of the five-year cycle, all organizations seeking a permissive tax exemption are required to apply.
