Drivers can expect major traffic-pattern changes on Highway 11 at Highway 1 starting on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, to allow crews to safely demolish the Highway 11 overpass.
From 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, through to 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, drivers can expect the following traffic diversions:
- The new westbound on-ramp from northbound Highway 11 to Highway 1 will be temporarily closed and drivers will be detoured via Marshall Road and McCallum Road.
- Highway 11, under Highway 1, will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
As some work is weather dependent, the timing of these traffic diversions might change. People travelling through the area during the diversions should plan additional travel time.
During construction, reduced speed limits of 50 km/h on Highway 11, and 80 km/h on Highway 1 will be in place. Drivers are reminded to slow down and use caution, obey signage and traffic-control personnel in the area, and watch for roadside workers.
