Liberal Party of Canada announces Daniel Gobeil as Liberal Candidate for Chicoutimi–Le Fjord
Chicoutimi, QC – The Liberal Party of Canada has announced that Daniel Gobeil, a respected agricultural leader, will be the Liberal candidate for Chicoutimi–Le Fjord in the upcoming federal by-election.
“Daniel has deep roots in Chicoutimi–Le Fjord and a proven track record of standing up for farmers and communities across the region,” said Sachit Mehra, President of the Liberal Party of Canada. “He is ready to work with Mark Carney’s new Liberal team to deliver the serious solutions we need to protect our economy, bring down costs, and build a stronger future for Chicoutimi–Le Fjord, for Québecers, and for all Canadians.”
A dairy farmer with a Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, Daniel has spent nearly two decades standing up for farmers and communities in the region and throughout the province. He most recently served as Chair of Les Producteurs de lait du Québec as well as Les Producteurs de lait du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Daniel owns the Ferme du Fjord in La Baie, a family farm originally purchased by his grandfather where three generations now work together.
“I’ve dedicated my career to building a more prosperous economy in our communities, and I understand the priorities and the potential of our region,” said Daniel Gobeil. “Chicoutimi–Le Fjord needs a strong voice to fight for your priorities, someone who can take action with Mark Carney’s new Liberal team to invest in our region, support families and make life more affordable, and give our workers and small businesses more opportunities to succeed. That’s why I’m running to be your next Member of Parliament at this decisive moment.”
