BC Interior Community Foundation welcomes Nicky Jonsson as ExecutiveDirector

Kamloops, BC – July 14, 2025 – BC Interior Community Foundation is pleased to announce the
appointment of Nicky Jonsson as its new Executive Director.

Jonsson brings extensive experience in finance, governance, organizational leadership and community
service. Throughout her career, she has worked in both local government and community-based
organizations, helping guide financial management, administration and organizational planning.

Her professional background includes senior administrative and financial roles with the Sun Peaks
Mountain Resort Municipality, the former Sun Peaks Improvement District and Tourism Sun Peaks.

“Nicky understands both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with leading a growing
community foundation,” said Franca Petrucci, President of the BC Interior Community Foundation Board
of Directors. “Her knowledge of the region and thoughtful approach to leadership make her well suited to
guide BCICF into its next chapter.”

Born and raised in the region and a Kamloops resident for more than 30 years, Jonsson has a strong
personal connection to the communities served by BCICF.

“What attracted me to BC Interior Community Foundation was the opportunity to combine my professional
experience with community impact,” said Jonsson. “I care deeply about the people and communities that
make this region such a special place, and I look forward to working with the Board, staff, donors and
community partners to advance the Foundation’s mission.”

Jonsson succeeds Wenda Noonan, who is moving into the role of Development and Communications
Director with BCICF. In her new position, Noonan will focus on donor relationships, fund development,
community engagement and sharing stories of generosity and impact from across the region.

“This is an exciting new chapter for us,” said Noonan. “BC Interior Community Foundation has grown
significantly over the past four years, allowing us to provide more grants, support more students and
create greater impact across our region. Nicky brings the experience, leadership and regional knowledge
needed to build on that momentum and guide the Foundation forward.”

Outside of work, Jonsson enjoys spending time with her husband and family, including her four children
and three grandchildren.
