Actors Workshop Theatre

Actors Workshop Theatre is an intimate live-performance venue located in the Old Main building at Thompson Rivers University. It serves as the public stage for TRU’s performing arts program, presenting theatrical productions featuring students from acting and technical theatre courses, with direction and guidance from university faculty.

Productions give students practical experience both onstage and behind the scenes, including acting, directing, stage management, lighting, sound, costumes, props and set design. The theatre’s season typically runs from fall through spring and features a varied selection of classic, contemporary and student-created works, along with a Directors Festival presented by senior acting, directing and creative writing students.

Open to audiences from throughout Kamloops, Actors Workshop Theatre provides an opportunity to enjoy affordable live theatre while supporting emerging performers, directors, designers and theatre technicians.
