
Bert Edwards Science and Technology School
Bert Edwards Science and Technology School is a public Kindergarten–Grade 7 elementary school operated by School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) at 711 Windsor Avenue in Kamloops. Known as BEST, the school centres learning on science and technology, with inquiry-based teaching that encourages students to ask questions, think critically and explore meaningful issues through an integrated curriculum.
The school connects classroom learning with the wider scientific and environmental community through mentorship and partnerships involving organizations such as Thompson Rivers University, the Big Little Science Centre, McQueen Lake Environmental Centre, Ducks Unlimited, the City of Kamloops and the BC Wildlife Park. Students may also take part in extracurricular and athletic opportunities, including intramural sports, elementary teams, choir, skating and other school activities. Its current learning priorities include strengthening foundational literacy and building a strong sense of belonging within the BEST community.
