St. Andrews on the Square is a historic community venue at 159 Seymour Street, on the corner of Second Avenue in downtown Kamloops. Built in 1887 as Kamloops’s first permanent Presbyterian church, it is recognized as the oldest public building remaining in the city. The late Victorian Gothic Revival building features a distinctive square tower and spire, pointed-arch windows, wood-frame construction, decorative exterior detailing, and a vaulted interior ceiling.

The City of Kamloops purchased the former church in 1991 to protect it from demolition. Following restoration work in the late 1990s and a major restoration completed in 2026 after fire, smoke, and water damage, the building continues to combine heritage character with modern community use. Interior features include historic pews, stained-glass pieces, archival photographs, heritage-inspired finishes, improved accessibility, updated event technology, and a quiet family space.

St. Andrews on the Square is available as a multi-purpose public rental venue for weddings, concerts, recitals, ceremonies, meetings, workshops, arts activities, wellness classes, memorials, and other gatherings. A public square beside the building adds an open outdoor setting to this prominent downtown heritage site.
