Valleyview Secondary School

Valleyview Secondary School is a public Grade 8–12 secondary school operated by School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) at 1950 Valleyview Drive in the east end of Kamloops. It serves as a comprehensive high school for students from Valleyview and surrounding communities, with a focus on inclusive learning, student belonging and preparation for a range of post-secondary, trades and career pathways.

The school supports a broad academic and extracurricular program that includes athletics, drama, band, choir and student clubs. Its programs and learning spaces include a library, two gyms, science laboratories, art and foods rooms, textiles, woodwork and metalwork areas, a robotics and makerspace room, drama and multipurpose spaces, and a dedicated band room. Valleyview Secondary is also associated with district opportunities such as the Digital Arts and Technology Academy, Hockey Skills Academy, trades and transition programs, and international student programming.

The school acknowledges that it is located on the traditional territory of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and works within School District 73’s broader relationships with Secwépemc communities. Valleyview Secondary is an important educational and community institution for residents of Kamloops’ southeast neighbourhoods.
