The Wildfire Memorial is a public sculpture in front of the Kamloops Art Gallery and downtown library at 465 Victoria Street. Created by Vancouver artist Cameron Kerr in 2004, it commemorates the devastating 2003 wildfire season in the Thompson-Nicola region, including the McLure and Strawberry Hill fires that threatened communities north of Kamloops.

The memorial honours the thousands of evacuees, firefighters, emergency workers and volunteers who responded to the fires and supported displaced residents. Commissioned by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District with support from the City of Kamloops, it stands as a reminder of the destruction caused by the fires and the community effort that followed. Its location places it within Kamloops’ downtown cultural precinct, close to other public art, heritage sites and civic facilities.
