The City of Kamloops is now accepting applications for eligible electors to vote by mail in the 2026 general local election. Kamloops residents and non-resident property electors who want to vote by mail can:

• complete an online version of the form available at Kamloops.ca/VoteByMail
• print out the PDF form from Kamloops.ca/VoteByMail, complete it by hand, and return it to the Chief Election Officer per the instructions on the form
• drop by City Hall (7 Victoria Street West) between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on business days to pick up a hard copy of the form
• request the form by mail or email by contacting the Chief Election Officer at [email protected] or 250-828-3483

Electors who would like their mail ballot package mailed out to them with Canada Post must submit their application form by the end of the day on October 1, 2026. For applications submitted after 11:59 pm on October 1, voters must pick up their mail ballot package from City Hall or have someone pick it up on their behalf. Voters have until 11:59 pm on October 14, 2026, to request a mail ballot package.

Voters are responsible for ensuring that their completed ballot and supporting documents are returned to City Hall and received by the Chief Election Officer by Saturday, October 17, 2026, before voting closes at 8:00 pm. Outside of business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm), completed mail ballot packages can be dropped into the secure 24-hour drop box at City Hall. Post-marked envelopes dated before this deadline will not be accepted. Ballots received after 8:00 pm on October 17, 2026, will not be counted, in accordance with provisions of the Local Government Act.

“We strongly encourage anyone who wants to vote by mail in this year’s election to submit their application as early as possible,” said Alisha Beday, the City’s Chief Election Officer. “It’s especially important to start the process early if a voter plans to both receive and submit their ballot package by regular mail.”
